SPC Steve Davis

SP4 Steve DavisSteve Davis came from a military family and was born and raised in the Fort Bragg area. His great grandfather, grandfather, father and brother were all combat veterans. He was a dedicated student athlete, ice hockey player, soccer, golf and other sports throughout his youth. He also had a passion for skateboarding, he would walk or bike across town to be able to go to the skatepark, he even deployed to Iraq with his skateboard. In 2006, Steve got married to his high school sweetheart and would soon be expecting a beautiful daughter.

Shortly after finding out that his family was growing he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and after completing basic training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) he was assigned to the 2/12 Infantry Brigade Combat Team (BCT). He moved his family to Colorado Springs for his first duty assignment where he loved to hike, ski and snowboard with his wife Ayla in his free time. His daughter Elizabeth was born in Colorado just before he deployed to Iraq.

On July 4, 2007, Steve was killed in action in Al Doura, Iraq, during an RGK3 attack while on a vehicle patrol in town. At the time of his death, his mother was working as a paramedic, and his brother was serving with the 10th Mountain Division in Iraq.
